Dr. Winfrey has been preaching God’s word since 1942. He was saved in 1940, called to peach in 1941, and ordained in 1942. That same year he was drafted to serve in World War II and was also married to Wana Jean Benton. Prior to this after graduating High School, he was a rodeo trick rider. During World War II after the Battle of the Bulge, he preached outside of Paris in a tent meeting that was very successful with the altars filled with soldiers getting saved. He has continued preaching and serving God to this very day.
He is also a licensed private pilot with both multi-engine and instrument ratings and is also an avid runner. He currently runs an average of over 4 miles a day, 2 or 3 times per week as his traveling schedule permits. He has participated in and completed the Atlanta 10K (6.25 Miles) Peachtree Road Race along with 55000 other runners for the last 25 years. He is now training to run his 26th Peachtree July 4th, 2005. In addition, he has made over 35 group trips to the Holy Land.
